About the Department

The Department of Mathematics has been a cornerstone of our college since its inception in 1942, serving approximately half of our student body. We are committed to cultivating critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity in our students to equip them for success in today's world. To achieve this, we have incorporated skill-based courses, various curricular and co-curricular activities, and technology-driven approaches into our curriculum. We foster a student-centric environment through workshops, guest lectures, seminars, and other activities.

Our department currently boasts a dedicated team of five faculty members, two of whom have over two decades of teaching experience. We offer one major program, one minor program, and five three-major programs.

Two of our faculty members, Smt. P. Nirmala Kumari and Dr. D. Madhusudhana Rao, were honoured with AP state meritorious teacher awards in 2015 & 2018 respectively. Our faculty members are actively engaged in research and have published numerous papers in international journals.
