Vision

To develop intellectual curiosity , raise public awareness about the past and its legacies and create employability skills among the students through teaching ,research and service activities conducted locally ,regionally, nationally and globally.  

Mission

  • Transform the students in to citizens who are critically informed about the past and its consequences for the present.
  • Promote studies in History , society and culture that range from Ancient to Modern ( Contemporary) India and World History . 
  • Empower students to cope with the challenges of Globalization by instilling in them a life-long Passion for learning about the Past. The Knowledge about the interconnections
  • Between the Global , National , Regional and local History will equip the students to face the challenges with confidence.
  • Enhancing critical thinking and communication skills , empowering students to analyse
  • Historical evidence .
  • Encourage our students to engage with local  communities and participate in projects that promote historical  awareness and preservation.
  • Provide guidance and resources  to help women students pursue careers in history and related fields , including graduate studies , research, education and more.

About the Department

Objectives and Goals

To enrich the students with knowledge in History subject which will give them confidence to go for higher studies in all fields and competitive examinations.

Future Plans

The department is planning to: 

  • To enhance ICT based teaching
  • Try to mould the students towards communication skills, competitive exams.
  • Promoted the awareness among graduate students to get Job and Higher education opportunities in the field of subject of History.

The department of History was established in 1942 . A new course in BA Tourism Management was started in 2009  to encourage students for Tourism Sector jobs to study with UG programmes and  number of teachers sanctioned are three. Now number of  teachers are working Three Lecturers. These two departments were started in order to provide high quality education for women studies and to explore the recent advance and innovate teaching learning members for the effective teaching. The department designs the circular to foster the skills necessary for career development and lifelong learning in rapidly changing global environment.
