About the Department

The department since its inception has been catering to enhance the quality of science groups both physical and life sciences and acting as a bridge between them. Since 1944, it has gradually developed as one of the biggest departments of the college by increasing number of programs and intake of students, with introduction of PG course as milestone. 

Department conducts activities like field trips, extension activities, internships in industries and reputed institutes like BARC, employability skill based activities environment oriented programs, which enhance student abilities and exposes them to latest technologies and current problems in the society. Many students have secured PG seats in reputed institutes like Central University, IIT, NIT, Andhra, Padmavathi, Sri Venkateswara universities. Students bagged many prizes in competitive events organized by other colleges and organizations. 

Department has experienced and dedicated eight regular staff members and two guest faculty. Out of them, five are doctorates and three are pursuing Ph.D. Apart from academics many staff members are heads of committees like Placement cell, NCC, Grievance cell and members for Examination cell, NAAC, Women Empower cell etc.
