About the Department

Department of Political Science had been offering three-year undergraduate courses and at present offers an undergraduate three years Honours course and Electives to other Honours courses. The department is modest in size but is well equipped with wider experienced lecturer with a Postgraduate Degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad and NET in political science and one with an M.A. M. Phil Degree from one of the most prestigious universities of India i.e. Jawaharlal Nehru University and a UGC-NET and with a work experience in different Non-Government Organisations. 

The department familiarises students with the conceptual and applied arena of the discipline. The course offers a variety of skills that prepare a student for academics, bureaucratic positions and legal fields. It guides those students who are especially spirited and willing to move ahead. The department prepares students for a wide range of careers in government, non-government and private sectors. The faculty guides the students about career opportunities available for Political Science.

The department tries to enhance the students with subject specific knowledge and ability to think rationally and critically. It guides students understand political institutions, politics and public institutions. The Department is committed for inclusive education by admitting a greater number of students from marginalised sections of the society.

Few students with Political Science as one of the subjects at under-graduate level have been pursuing either Masters in the subject or went for studying B. Ed or attempting State and Central Administrative services.
