The Biotechnology program at Govt. Degree College for Women was initiated in 2000, offering undergraduate courses in English medium. Initially, the program combined majors in Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Zoology. In 2018, another program with majors in Biotechnology, Botany, and Chemistry was introduced. From the academic year 2023-24, a minor program in Biotechnology for B.Sc Honours has been launched.
