Biography
Dr. Durga Prasada Rao Jagannadham has been working as a Lecturer in Commerce since 2002. He is appointed as a Lecturer in Commerce, TJPS College, Guntur and put in 19 years of service. As part of the reforms in higher education by the Government of Andhra Pradesh he is absorbed into the Government service and transferred to the Government Degree College (A), Rajamahendravarm, after completion of one year service in the college, later he is transferred to the Government College for Women (A), Guntur. As a renowned academician he has completed 22 years of service, with his vast experience of more than two decades, he educates the students with the practical exposure in Accountancy, Management and Stock Market Analysis. Besides a successful academician, he is also serving to the society as a consumer activist. He delivered lectures on Consumer Protection Act with latest amendments and case studies in various platforms and educates the people regarding their consumer rights. He is also involved in some of the consumer related issues and won the consumer cases in District and State Level Consumer Forums. He is serving as a Board of Studies Member and Subject Expert in various autonomous colleges and Acharya Nagarjuna University.
He pursued his Post Graduation in Commerce from University College, Nagarjuna University, Guntur (Dist), Andhra Pradesh. Completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and Master in Business Administration through Distance Education from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Master of Philosophy in Commerce from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu and Doctor of Philosophy from Acharya Nagarjuna University under the supervision of Prof. G.V. Chalam, under Faculty Development Programme XII Plan. The area of his specialization in research is Finance.
Dr. Durga Prasada Rao is an enthusiastic person, having a zeal to know the novel thing, he is very much interested in research work. Acharya Nagarjuna University has awarded Ph.D. for his research work, titled A Study of the Performance Evaluation of Thermal Power Generation Corporations in India. “A Case Study of Dr. Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station, Vijayawada”. Archers and Elevators Publishing House has awarded Best Research Award – 2019 for his eminent Ph.D. research work. He published 21 research paper publications in various UGC Care list, Scopus Indexed and Referred Journals with Impact factors. He registered a patent for his work entitled “The Impact of the International Financial Crisis on India’s Securities Market” in October 2023. He has published 20 Seminar Papers in different International and National Seminars. Contributed 2 chapters for the B.Com., Course for Acharya Nagarjuna University Distance Education. He has participated in 16 National workshops and 6 Faculty Development Programmes.
