Mission
- To inculcate a sense of social responsibility in our students by actively engaging them in community service programmes that address local, national and global challenges.
- To collaborate with government and non-government organizations in conducting programs focused on cleanliness, health, education, social welfare, women empowerment, national integration and environmental conservation creating impact in the community.
- To promote sustainability and environmental consciousness through our community service projects,aligning with the global and national agenda for sustainable development.
About NSS
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. NSS was launched on 24th September, 1969, the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhiji. It provides opportunity to the student youth to take part in various Government led community service activities & programmes. Education through Service’ is the purpose of the NSS. At present our college has 4 NSS units with 400 volunteers . we have consistently endeavoured to mold our volunteers into empathetic and socially conscious individuals. We believe in the power of youth to bring about transformative change, and through our diverse range of activities that include rural development to urban welfare programs, from environmental conservation to health awareness campaigns

Aim: Personality Development of Volunteers through community service.
Objectives:
- Understanding the community in which they work.
- Understand themselves in relation to their community.
- Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve in Problem solving process
- Develop among them a sense of civic and social responsibility
- Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and Community problems
- Develop competance require for group living and sharing of Responsibilities
- Gain skills in mobilizing community participation
- Acquire leadership quality and democratic attitude
- Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters
- Practice National Integration and Social Harmony.
NSS Symbol
NSS symbol is based on the chariot wheel of the Konark Sun Temple situated in Orissa The Konark wheel in the symbol has eight bars, which represent the 24 hours of the day showing readiness of the volunteers for
service of the nation round the clock i.e. for 24 hours. The Red colour in the symbol indicates that the NSS volunteers are full of blood i.e. lively, active, energetic and full of high spirit. The Navy Blue colour indicates the cosmos of which the NSS is a tiny part, ready to contribute its share for the welfare of the mankind.
NSS Day: NSS was formally launched on 24th September, 1969, the birth centenary year of Father of the Nation. Therefore, 24 September is celebrated every year as NSS Day with appropriate programmes and activities.
NSS Units :
One Programme Oficer & 100 student volunteer under the supervision of the principal forms a unit. We have 4 units with 400 volunteers
NSS Advisory Committee :
One NSS Advisory Committee should be formed to guide the Programme Officer. The member of the committee as follows:-
- Chairperson – Principal
- 1 NSS College level coordinator / Member Secretaryfor all the 4 units
- 1 Programme Officer - for each unit
- Members - 2 Teaching Faculty Members/ Ex- NSS Programme Officer for each unit
- Two NSS volunteers – for each unit
Classification of NSS Programmes:
NSS activities have been classified in to two major groups:-
- Regular NSS Activities: Students undertakes various activities for about 240 hrs @ 120 hours per year in the Adopted villages, college/ campus and urban slums during week ends or after college hours.and during special days
- Special Camping Programme: Camps of 7 days duration are organized in adopted villages/urban slums during vacations with some specific programmes by involving local community. 50% enrollment of NSS volunteers is expected to participate in these camps.
Benefits of joinng NSS
- Credits : The NSS volunteers are given 3 extra credits a as per the following criteria
A. Regular activities : 50 % participation 1 credit, 80 % participation 2 credits
B. Special camp activities 1 credit
Total 3 credits
- Reservation in admission for higher studies
- Preference in various Government recruitments
- opportunity to train themselves as the future leaders and decision-makers
- It gives opportunities to take part in inter-collegiate / inter-university / inter-state Competitions
- exchange views with students from other colleges/universities/states.
- opportunity to meet great personalities
- National integration camp, Republic day parade, adventure camp and special camp certificates give additional value
- Appreciations and Awards at various level from college level to national level
