Eco Club

Eco Club Aim

The main aim of the eco club is to instil a sense of responsibility in the students for the natural environment and a personal commitment to protect and preserve it.

Objectives

  • promote eco-friendly environment in the campus
  • Create awareness amongst the students and society on current environmental issues through awareness campaigns, rallies workshops, painting & poster making, QUIZ competitions, PPT Presentations, talks, and various other drives.
  • Create awareness about the harmful effects of plastics and sensitize the students and public to minimize the use of plastic bags,
  • Encourage and implement sustainable practices within the college campus, such as waste reduction, recycling programs, energy conservation, and water-saving initiatives.
  • Create awareness on biodiversity, natural resources and their conservation and foster initiatives for preservation  local biodiversity, including plantation drives, maintaining green spaces, and advocating for wildlife conservation.
  • Revive the indigenous knowledge of organic farming, bio -fertilizer and rain water harvesting, use of renewable energy sources for sustainable development of our society.
  • Educate and advocate for the adoption of renewable energy sources like among students and the wider community.
  • Extend initiatives and activities beyond the college premises to engage with the local community, creating a broader impact and promoting a culture of sustainability beyond the campus.

About

Eco club is a college level, voluntary initiative for a common goal of a better environment. Eco club of Government College for women(A), Guntur is formed to imbibe among the members of staff and students love and care for nature. The Eco club actively takes initiatives in creating action orientation among the citizens of Guntur through rallies, campaigns, plantation programmes and awareness programs. Our Eco club members are mainly from life sciences and some are from different streams of education with a zeal and commitment for protecting our mother nature

 Ecoclub Activities:

 The Eco Club of the college has been actively working on spreading awareness on issues related to environment protection and sustainable lifestyle among the students and society. The Eco Club organises programmes which aim at the Clean and green, waste segregation, conservation of air, water, biodiversity, energy and adoption of the practices which promote good health and sustainable development. The activities comprise sensitizing the community about conservation and sustainability of the environment through awareness campaigns, rallies workshops, painting & poster making, QUIZ competitions, PPT Presentations, talks, and various other drives.
